SINN Féin Councillor Tony Hassan has welcomed the news that the PSNI have recovered two cars stolen in the Culmore area of Derry.
The operation involved the assistance of An Garda Siochana in Donegal.
There has been ongoing problems with car crime and anti-social behaviour across Derry.
Councillor Hassan said: “I welcome the recovery of these cars.
“There have been a number of problems highlighted in recent weeks in regards to the theft and burning of cars, run-arounds, death riding.
“All of this is having a negative impact on the local community at a time when so much positive work is happening in the districts.
“I would urge anyone who has information on those involved in such criminality to bring it forward.”
