DETECTIVES have charged a man with human trafficking offences.
The 28-year-old is expected to appear before Derry Magistrates’ court on Tuesday.
He faces a series of charges including rape, false imprisonment and inciting prostitution.
Police said the man was arrested after the woman asked for assistance at Strand Road Police Station on Sunday night.
Detective Inspector Mark Bell, from PSNI Human Trafficking Unit, said: “These enquiries included a search of a property in the city.”
“We are working with our partner agencies to ensure the woman receives all appropriate support and assistance.”
