DERRY City will play Bohemians following today’s third round draw for the FAI Cup.
The Candy Stripes have form on their side after beating Bohs 1-0 last week at Dalymount Park through a Rory Patterson goal – his tenth of the season so far.
The win consolidated Derry’s position behind second placed Cork City with the gap at three points
Manager Kenny Shiels will be looking for the same performance and work rate to make it into the next round.
Non-league Crumlin United have been pitted against Airtricity League leaders Dundalk in today’s third round draw for the FAI Cup while there are also three top-division ties.
Dundalk, who lost the first leg of their Champions League third round qualifier away to BATE Borisov earlier this week, will be aiming for an 11th success in the competition.
The other two all-Airtricity Premier Division ties will see Sligo Rovers travel to Ferrycarrig Park while Longford Town will have home advantage against Cork City.
Limerick side Janesboro were handed an away date with UCD, while fellow non-league outfit Ringmahon Rangers will entertain Cobh Ramblers in a Cork derby.
Athlone Town, rooted to the bottom of the First Division, will host Shamrock Rovers, while Limerick travel to Inchicore hoping to cause an upset.
The draw, which took place in Clonmel as part of the FAI’s Festival of Football week in Tipperary, was conducted by Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill and FAI President Tony Fitzgerald.
