BOGSIDE Sinn Féin Councillor for the Bogside Colly Kelly has urged motorists to take due care and attention as upgrade work has taken place at one of the busiest road junctions in the city.
Roadworks are ongoing at at Elmwood Terrace /Westland Street and Laburnum Terrace.
Said Councillor Kelly: “This is a very busy road junction which sees hundreds of vehicles travel through it every day.
“Over the years this junction has seen its fair share of accidents and near misses.
“In 2010 double mini roundabouts were introduced at this junction to slow traffic down due to the high volume of traffic.
“Work this week has seen the upgrade of all the road markings and with the pedestrian crossing also getting an upgrade.
“I would appeal for motorists to take due care and attention until such times as the system has bedded,” he added.
