TWO men have appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrates’ Court charged with sexually abusing a girl under 13 stretching back over a decade ago.
One of the defendant, who is aged 32 and with an address in Derry’s Springtown Road area, is charged with rape and two accounts of attempted rape.
He is further accused of four of indecent assaults and two offences of sexually assaulting a child.
The offences are alleged to have taken place on dates between February 2004 and February 2011
The second defendant, now aged 26 and with an address in south Belfast, faces 11 charges of indecently assaulting the same girl.
Those offences are alleged to have taken place on dates between February 2005 and February 2009 when he was aged between 15 and 19.
Both men cannot be named for legal reasons to protect the identity of their victim.
