SEARCHES are expected to continue today for missing musician Stephen ‘Stevie’ Martin.
The PSNI in Foyle and his family say they are increasingly concerned for his safety and well being as he has now been missing for the past three weeks.
Stephen, who was better known as ‘Rainy Boy Sleep’, has been missing from his home since last month.
Originally from Lifford, the 29 year old’s family now live in Derry.
‘Rainy Boy Sleep’ had gained major popularity in local music circles and was tipped to eventually become a huge star in his own right.
He formerly worked at Tesco’s in Limavady where he is fondly remembered as a “nice fella”.
His car was found by Gardai close to Fanad Pier sparking a huge search by the lifeboat services and the Rescue 188 helicopter around Mulroy Bay yesterday.
Fans of the singer have been posting messages on social media praying for his safe return.
The singer supported many major acts including Cyndi Lauper and played at venues across Derry and Donegal.
He is described as being 6’ tall, of slim build, with brown coloured shaven hair and facial stubble.
Police in Derry and Gardai in Donegal are appealing for Stephen, whose family live in Derry, or anyone who knows of his whereabouts, to make contact.
Anyone with information about Stevie is asked to ring their local police/garda station.
