DERRY City and Strabane District Council is looking for local artists, designers and craftspeople who are interested in showcasing their products.
The council wants to showcase their wares at one of the biggest events of its kind anywhere in Ireland to register to participate in the 22nd Annual Guildhall Craft Fair when it returns to Derry City in November.
The ever popular three day event, organised by Derry City and Strabane District Council and running from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th November, offers the public a unique opportunity to sample and buy some of the finest bespoke craft items from across the island.
Last year the fair featured over 40 exhibitors with a wide range of both contemporary and traditional gifts on display including ceramics, textiles, knitwear, wood, glass, prints and some artisan food products.
A limited number of places are available for exhibitors and the City and District Mayor, Alderman Hillary McClintock, has encouraged local crafters to apply to be part of this unique event.
“The Guildhall Craft Fair offers the perfect platform for North West crafters to exhibit their products to a wider market ahead of the busy Christmas period,” she said.
“It has a long standing reputation for the quality and variety of the fair on offer and attracts craft connoisseurs from all over the island of Ireland, keen to source that unique gift.
“With thousands of visitors expected over the weekend, the exposure for local traders is significant and they couldn’t ask for a more stunning backdrop to showcase their offerings than the Guildhall’s main hall.”
The Craft Fair marks the start of the city’s festive celebrations over the Christmas period.
The closing date for exhibitors to apply for the fair is Monday September 19th at 4 pm.
