IF you have a love of music and tea dances, then the Alley Theatre on Thursday night the 8th September 16 is the place to be.
After four weeks of dance practise with dance caller Paul Cotton from the Dylan Quinn School of Dance, we will be holding our finale event on Thursday evening at 7.30pm in the auditorium, cabaret style.
Playing at the final event will be local musicians we all know and love, Gordon Speer and Friends with Paul‘s dance experience to encourage everyone onto the dance floor.
Over the August month, we have enjoyed a wonderful turnout of local people whose common interest is in learning various old thyme dance styles and the workshops have attached folks from the all of the district, including some of our caring facilities.
We have had a great social events as everyone has joined together to enjoy the music and refreshments.
Welcoming this project that actively seeks to engage our more mature citizens a spokesperson for Council said:
”For many older people, dancing regularly helps to keep a sense of youthfulness and fun. Even those with limited mobility are surprised how different they feel after these music and movement sessions.
“So we would hope to see a good turnout for the Thursday Tea Dance”
This finale dance is open to all and the tickets can be booked through the Alley Box office or online through the Alley website www.alley-theatre.com.
