SDLP Derry Councillor Brian Tierney has welcomed planning permission for a new playpark in Ballyarnett country park.
He said: “This is great news for the local community.
“There’s a large number of children and young people in the Ballyarnett area and this facility will provide a much needed outlet for them.
“As a member of the Ballyarnett Master Plan Steering Group, I’m delighted that the council’s planning committee has given support to this development.
“We will continue working to ensure then needs of local people, and particularly young people, are met.
“This is a good news story for local people and hopefully we’ll see work underway very soon,” added Cllr Tierney.
