SINN Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed confirmation from Habinteg that residents of Conar Court in Crawford Square have finally received a proposed schedule of works to resolve issues related to gas supply and other structural matters in their homes.
Councillor Cooper said: “The issuing of the work plan follows an inconclusive meeting between residents and Habinteg which was followed up by meetings involving Councillor Cooper and party colleague Raymond McCartney MLA with Habinteg and other stakeholders:
“I’m pleased that as a result of our engagement with Habinteg, Building Control in Derry Strabane Council and the Health and Safety Executive, residents are now in possession of a detailed work plan for their homes.
“We have urged Habinteg to take feedback from each resident to ensure they are happy with the plan before work begins.
“On that basis we would hope that work will begin imminently to resolve issues which have caused residents untold problems over the last couple of years,” he added.
