A CO Derry-based company has agreed a deal to supply the US Veterans Administration (VA) with therapeutic chairs.
The VA serves nearly 9 million army veterans across 1,233 facilities each year.
Martin Tierney of Limady’s Seating Matters described it as “an absolute honour” to supply the seating to “enhance the lives of veterans through the VA”.
The seats were the product of a two-year research collaboration with specialists at Ulster University.
Mr Tierney said the contract was a testament to the work of clinicians, engineers and designers.
First Minister Arlene Foster MLA had recently travelled to the United States to promote Northern Ireland as a business and investment destination.
Speaking at events in New York and Washington, Mrs Foster said she was keen to highlight the region’s “unparalleled combination of cost-effectiveness and legal technical excellence”.
