THE PSNI say it will launch an operation this week to crack down on the cause of deaths and serious on our roads by motorists.
Those deaths and life changing injuries are caused by drink or drug drivers, motorists not paying attention to the road, or those busy using their mobile phones and those not wearing seat belts.
A police spokesperson said: “Road safety is everyone’s responsibility and a priority for police every single day of the week.
“However, this Thursday you may notice an increase in police activity as we focus our efforts on addressing the main factors behind deaths and life changing injuries on our roads.
“This isn’t just about handing out fines and penalty points.
“We want to make sure you are really thinking about keeping safe on the roads every time you leave your house.
“So you can’t say you haven’t been warned.
“And if you think there are areas where we need to focus our attention then let us know.”
