THE NORTH West Job Fair will be back in Derry this week.
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Alderman Hilary McClintock, has described this week’s job Job Fair as a “one stop shop” for local people seeking to advance their employment situation.
Over 20 employers and several support organisations will be at Derry’s Millenium Forum for the event this Thursday October 6.
Those attending will be able to meet employers face to face, receive careers advice and learn job search skills.
The event is being organised by the Department of Communities in conjunction with Council and the Mayor encouraged local people to seize the opportunities on offer.
“This is a particularly effective event because it brings employers, support organisations and jobseekers together under one roof,” said Alderman McClintock.
“Whether you are unemployed or considering a change of career this event offers a one stop shop for your employment needs.
“There is also a wide range of education and training options to explore which could be particularly useful in giving you the edge in what is a very competitive local job market.”
Apex Housing Association, Fujitsu, JD Sports and the North West Regional College are among the employers who will exhibit at the Fair.
There will also be a presence from support organisations which include Kick Start to Work and the Careers Service.
Thursday’s event will run from 10am to 3pm and admission is free.
