As she prepares to bring her collections to Guildhall next month Lynsey spoke about her success and her most recent collection, which she’ll be displaying on the runway during Fashion Fest.
‘This will be my third year taking part in Fashion Fest. It is a fantastic event and a great platform which showcases inspiring and innovative designers.
“I developed a love of art and creativity at a very young age and after completing a foundation degree in art and design and a HND in Fashion and Textiles Design at North West Regional College I went on to develop the Haus Of MoHawk brand.
“At times it has been an up-hill battle of determination, financial difficulties, self-doubt and perseverance against all odds because the dream is too much to give up.
“I had great support from my mother and father and the love of a very understanding boyfriend and close group of friends who have support my dreams, the long hours and little time off to build what I hope to be an internationally acclaimed fashion brand with strong roots within Northern Ireland.
“I’m someone who does not believe in luck, I believe in creating my own destiny.
“By keeping focused on the end goal I will be enough of a reckoning force to achieve my aspirations.
“To date the brand has been sold and featured in Australia, Canada, America, Asia and Europe in a variety of media publications, music videos, fashion shows, television and radio stations.
“My new collection, ‘Signature By Haus Of MoHawk’ can be seen at Fashion Fest’s Fashion Show in the Guildhall on Saturday 19th November.
“This collection usurps all that I am as an individual, as a designer and what the Haus Of MoHawk has to offer as a fashion brand but still promotes the design ethos ‘Always Dare To Be Different’.
“I’m looking forward to showing my collection to my home audience alongside the other Irish designers confirmed for the event.”
