Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run road traffic collision on Derry’s Creggan Road yesterday.
Officers received a report just before 8 am on Friday, October 14, that a blue coloured old car mounted the footpath and struck a female pedestrian.
She was walking along the Creggan Road between the entrances to Turasmore Park and Kylemore Park when she was hit.
The car did not stop at the scene and continued countrybound on the Creggan Road.
Fortunately, the woman did not require any hospital treatment.
Local PSNI officer Inspector Mullan has appealed to anyone who was on the Creggan Road at the time and who witnessed the collision to come forward.
He also wants anyone with any information about the blue coloured car to contact officers at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 217 14/10/16.
