PUPILS from Donemana recently took part in a special youth engagement programme funded by Derry and Strabane Policing and Community Safety Partnership.
Dennett Interchange delivered the programme which began in July and offered the opportunity for young people to participate in a number of projects including a health and well-being project, a social economy initiative, training opportunities and activity days.
As part of the programme, a number of young people were even invited to participate in a Mantra tractor driving course.
Some of the young people who took part in the programme are pictured here alongside PCSP Chairperson, Councillor Gus Hastings, PCSP Officer Vanessa Russell, and Dennett Interchange Co-ordinator Margaret McLaughlin.
Congratulating the participants, Councillor Hastings said:
“This training programme has provided these young people with a number of useful new skills including how to drive a tractor safely and with confidence and ensures that the key fundamentals of driving, loading and health and safety are covered.
“I would like to congratulate everyone who took part and hope that they put their new skills to good use in the future,” he added.
