SINN Féin Councillor Patricia Logue has welcomed the news that the Communities Minister Paul Givan has announced funding of £650,000 to create a high quality public realm scheme for Nailors’ Row in Derry.
She said: “I welcome the announcement of this public realm scheme which will include a new lighting system, traffic measures, footpaths and new greenery.
“This will help enhance safety for residents living in the House in the Wells , Alexander House and because of its proximity to the Derry Walls also help our tourism product.
“Anyone who is in this area on a daily basis will tell you that the road beside Alexander House is always very busy, there are a lot of cars parked in this area and at times it can be very congested.
“This leads to concerns about access for the emergency services.
“I look forward to the commencement of this work in January,” added Cllr Logue.
