THIEVES have stooped to a new low in what they will steal.
The RNLI Lifeguard Hut at Whiterocks has been vandalised and life-saving equipment stolen.
This equipment is used to save people who get into danger in the waters all year round, not just in the summer.
What is even more galling is that hut and stolen equipment were all bought with RNLI funds.
And their own money will now have to be used to mend the damage and replace the stolen equipment, money that should be spent on saving lives.
The RNLI said in a statement to the Mark Patterson show: “Although it’s winter, our Lifeguard units are still forming part of the beautiful scenery on our coastlines, it’s such a shame not all people come to the coast to enjoy it.”
So if you who was responsible, ring the police on the 101 number or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
