SINN Féin MLA Raymond McCartney has said it is clear the British government hasn’t a clue in its approach to Brexit.
The Foyle MLA said: “The revelations that it will be six months before the British government comes up with a strategy for the Brexit negotiations is far from surprising.
“Sinn Féin has been saying repeatedly that the British government it absolutely clueless on its strategy and is just making it up as it goes along.
“Their approach is becoming increasingly more like an episode of ‘Yes Minister’, only not as funny.
“If they are looking for a strategy they should recognise and respect the remain vote of the north.
“We need to explore alternatives to Brexit which would allow the north to have designated special status within the EU,” he added.
