Sinn Fein councillor Patricia Logue
SINN Féin Brandywell Councillor Patricia Logue has welcomed the start to the Stadium redevelopment.
She said: “Sinn Féin has consistently sought to play a positive role in achieving redevelopment of the greater Brandywell area in a manner that improves the quality of life of all stakeholders but particularly the residents.
“I believe that this contributes to that vision.
“We in Sinn Féin have always stated that the scope and scale of the project would present challenges but with good will and everyone involved acting collectively all challenges could be successfully surmounted.
“The responsibility of Derry City and Strabane District Council, its elected members and Government departments is that rate payers and citizens get the maximum collective benefit and impact.
“I believe that the project as announced this week meets this criteria and look forward to further feasible development as circumstances dictate.
“I wish all concerned with Derry City Football Club and other stakeholders all the best in their future endeavours in what will be an excellent community facility,” added Cllr Logue.
