Police at Strand Road appealing after a house ransacked and valuable jewellery stolen

POLICE are on the trail of thieves in Derry who ransacked a home and stole valuable jewellery.

The PSNI in Foyle said officers received a report that between the hours of 3.30 pm and 8.00 pm last Saturday entry was gained to a residential premises at Ivy Meadows in the Altnagelvin area of the city through a back door.

The property was ransacked and a number of valuable jewellery items were stolen.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding the incident or to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to get in touch.

Or anyone who may have been offered similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1101 on 26/11/16.

Alternatively, information about the burglary can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
