POLICE have launched an arson investigation after a caravan was set alight on the outskirts of Derry last night.
The fire broke out on Glenabbey Road, off Skeoge Link Road around 7.30 pm.
The road was sealed off by police to allow fire crews to extinguish the blaze.
The abandoned caravan had been parked beside a three-bedroom house on the main road leading in and out of the estate.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident and no other properties were damaged as a result of the fire.
Anyone with information about who started the fire is asked to ring police at Strand Road on the 101 number.
