A 48-year old-man is to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court this morning over an incident involving a crossbow yesterday.
He has been charged with attempted murder, common assault, two counts of criminal damage, two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and threats to kill.
The charges related to an incident in the Glendara area of Derry on Tuesday morning.
Police closed off part of Foyle Road to traffic for a time between its junctions with Lone Moor Road and Bishop Street while armed officers dealt with the incident.
Local said a man was seen at a block of flats with a crossbow and fired a bolt at the window of nearby property before the alarm was raised.
