POLICE are advising parents to warn their children about throwing material at moving vehicles in Derry.
It follows recent reports of cars being ‘muck bombed’ as they travelled along Madams Bank Road.
The PSNI in Foyle said: “Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Team have been keeping an eye on Madams Bank Road because of the recent ‘muck bombing’.
“We know this is just young people messing about but we don’t want to see car accidents and people hurt.
“Just as important we don’t want to see youngsters being brought into the Youth Justice system when they think they are just having a bit of harmless fun.
“So if parents could have a wee word with their kids about not throwing or launching things at moving vehicles.
“Other residents can feel free to PM details of the kids involved and we will call out for a discreet chat before things become even more serious.”
