POLICE have interviewed a woman over footage posted on social media which showed a car driver using a Co Derry hard shoulder for an overtaking manoeuvre branded as “reckless”.
The woman – believed to have a restricted ‘R’ drive attended the police station voluntarily on Friday.
She was interviewed under the Road Traffic Order on suspicious of dangerous driving, illegally overtaking vehicles and driving without due care and attention.
In the footage which was posted online, the car appears to be forced to veer onto the hard shoulder on the opposite side of the Limavady Road after trying to overtake as it meets other oncoming traffic.
Chief Inspector Mark McClarence said: “We asked witnesses to contact us about footage on social media which showed a car driving on the Limavady Road on Tuesday 24 January.
“On Friday 3 February, a female attended a police station voluntarily and was interviewed by police.
