A weather warning is in place for right across the North of Ireland with heavy rain forecast for the rest of the week – with the chance of snow.
Heavy rain will develop across the country from Wednesday evening into Thursday.
The yellow weather warning is in place from Wednesday February 22 at 10pm until Thursday February 23 at 2pm.
The Met Office has said snowfall is expected also, predominantly over higher ground but with a risk to lower levels.
Areas to look out for are the Glenshane Pass and higher grounds in that area.
On Thursday morning gale force winds of 55mph are expected.
Warnings are in place for travel disruption, flooding and surface spray.
The Chief forecaster said: “Rainfall totals of 20-30 mm could bring some localised flooding and surface water issues, with any temporary snowfall bringing some difficult travel conditions.
“Then later on Thursday morning gusts of 55 mph could bring some minor travel disruption.”
