IT will be three weeks this Thursday since Jack Glenn entered the River Foyle and tragically vanished without trace.
But in that time there has been no let up in the huge numbers of people giving up their free time to come down to ‘Camp Jacko’ and help in the search along the river bank for the 23-year-old.
The Foyle Search and Rescue Service, Mourne River SAR along with the PSNI have conducting searches of the water in the hope of finding Jack and returning him to his heartbroken family.
The planned searches for today are:
8.30am – Low tide search at Camp Jacko
9.30pm – Low tide search at Camp Jacko
“Anyone in the vicinity of the Peace Bridge during the day if they would be kind enough to check along the Quay at anytime,” say Camp Jack organisers.
“On behalf of the Glenn family we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your continued help and support.”
His devastated mum Hester has made a daily appeal on her Facebook page to bring her son home to her.
She said: “Please help us bring jack home thank u all so much for the help so far luv and miss him so so much mum 💔💔💔🙏🙏🙏xxx”
Hester, whose daughter Katie has been tireless along the river bank in searching for her brother, also posted a heartfelt poem in memory of Jack.
It reads:
“I hold you in my heart
“I hold you there forever
“Even though we are apart
“We will always be together
“We had a special bond.
“One that was like no other.
“I am sending you my love
“From your dearest darling Mother.”
