DO you work in tourism or the hospitality sector?
Derry~Strabane Enterprise Week is providing a unique opportunity to help develop and grow tourism and hospitality related businesses with digital possibilities at a workshop in the city next week on Tuesday, 7th March.
Delivered by Digital DNA, in partnership with Derry City and Strabane District Council and Tourism Northern Ireland, the ‘Digital Tourism Roadshow’ is a full day workshop at the Guildhall that will examine how digital technology is no longer a ‘nice thing to have’ but is now critical to the development, growth and reach of businesses and organisations within the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
A limited number of participants at the workshop will be provided with a unique opportunity to consider their own business or organisations plans and then consider how they can develop and adopt a digital strategy relevant to their goals and budget.
As Enterprise Week draws closer Louise Breslin, Business Manager at Derry City and Strabane District Council encouraged anyone with an interest in developing their online presence and especially those within the tourism and hospitality sector to get registered on this session as soon as possible.
She said: “Having Digital DNA team up with The Tomorrow Lab for this event is an extra special accomplishment for the overall Enterprise Week programme.
“Expect expert content to be delivered at this workshop with tour operators, accommodation providers, restaurants, bars, attractions, transport providers, marketing and PR agencies all in attendance.
“This will not only be an opportunity to keep your business ahead digitally but is also a good opportunity to network with those in a similar line of business.
“There are many events over the five day programme with some specifically tailored to business sectors such as this one aimed at tourism and hospitality providers but overall the key messages of the week is to consider is your online presence working for you and how can you improve on what you currently offer.
“These events will hopefully answer those considerations for you. Check out the full programme online. I’d urge anyone interested in attending any of the events which include a number of free workshops, to register as soon as possible as spaces are limited.’
So what to expect at the Digital DNA Digital Tourism Roadshow?
During the workshop The Tomorrow Lab will use its own unique model to look, in an uncomplicated manner, at what each participant should consider to inform their own digital strategy.
The content delivered will address the findings of the recent Digital Audit which was conducted across Northern Ireland to identify the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
The Digital DNA Digital Tourism Roadshow will provide practical knowledge and insights into the power of digital technology. Taking place on Tuesday 7th March at the Guildhall from 8.30am, tickets are priced at £25 with beverages and refreshments provided throughout the day including lunch.
