SINN Féin MEP Martina Anderson will host a delegation from campaign group Border Communities Against Brexit in Brussels this week.
Speaking ahead of the delegation’s visit to Brussels, Ms Anderson said: “The impact of the British government’s Brexit agenda will be particularly keenly felt in border areas.
“I will be hosting a delegation from Border Communities Against Brexit in the European Parliament this week and they will be raising their concerns directly with leading MEPs.
“They will also be meeting with representatives from the office of Michel Barnier, the EU’s chief negotiator on Brexit.
“There is considerable anger in border areas about the plans of the British government to drag us out of the EU against our will and we will be lobbying MEPs from across Europe, building support for our case for designated special status for the north within the EU.”
British Prime Minister Theresa May has promised to trigger the Article 50 Brexit clause later this month.
