THERE are ongoing searches today for missing Creggan teenager Dean Millar who has not been seen in two days.
The 18-year-old went missing after leaving his friends in the Brandywell area in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He told them he was heading home but when he didn’t make it back safely the alarm was raised.
PSNI Foyle used its Facebook page to express its concern for his safety.
Officers are still appealing for information about Dean’s whereabouts.
As a result, family and friends have been carrying out search of the River Foyle during low tide.
A Facebook page – ‘Help Get Dean Home’ – has been set up to keep the public updated on the search process.
Volunteers from Foyle Search and Rescue are assisting in trying to locate Dean.
The latest posting on the Facebook page this morning said: “As much as our concerns are growing, our will power is still strong.
“The support Deirdre & Patrick (Dean’s parents) have received from family, friends & complete strangers is totally overwhelming.
“Our searches will continue today, I will post shortly the next low tide meeting time.
“If you are out along the embankments this morning please keep an eye out along the waters edge.
“I must say a massive thank you to the Jack Glen family who have stood right beside us from the start.
“Once again many thanks for your support.”
Jack Glenn has been missing for over a month now after entering the Foyle.
Daily searches for Jack also take place during low tides of the rive.
The next search for Dean takes place today at 2:15 m of the ‘Surrounding areas of the River Foyle’.
