SINN Féin’s Elisha McCallion has welcomed the SEUPB final approval of the North West Transport Hub which will be located at the Old Waterside railway station.
The Foyle MLA said: “The purchase of the Old Waterside Station for the development of the North-West Integrated Transport Hub was completed in January and today seen the final phase put into place with the SEUPB Committee approval.
“This will allow the project to be progressed without further delay and I look forward to work beginning on it now that all of the statutory requirements are completed.
“This is a very important development for Derry and the North West and will incorporate a new train station, park and ride facilities with approximately 100 spaces and additional facilities to improve public transport in the City.
“It is further evidence of Chris Hazzard’s delivery on committments to the North West in the short time he was Infrastructure Minister and I have no doubt it will be welcomed by all,” she added.
