TODAY is the first day of spring but the weather is not changing for the better.
For a yellow warning for snow and ice is in place for this evening, Monday, March 20.
The Met Office said there will be hail showers from 8pm through to Tuesday morning, on hills and at lower levels, affecting all parts of the North.
“Ice is also likely to form on untreated surfaces, whilst lightning may be an additional hazard,” forecasters added.
They said it could lead to some difficult driving conditions.
