POLICE dealing with a security alert in Co Derry say it has now ended.
The alert was sparked around 5 pm on Saturday.
It focused on Benbradagh Avenue in Limavady.
The PSNI said a “suspect package” was discovered and British Army Technical Officers were tasked to the scene.
Following an examination, ATO declared the package as a hoax.
Sinn Féin councillor Brenda Chivers, who attended the scene, said some residents had been evacuated and some businesses had been closed.
She said it was an “unwelcome and unusual occurrence in Limavady”.
