POLICE are jubilant after Derry City & Strabane District Support Team (DST) helped take drugs dealers and illegal drivers off the streets.
In the first incident, three DST officers travelled to Great Britain and in a joint operation with the local Police Service, one person was arrested and brought back to the North.
The male was later charged to court with a total of ten offences involving the supply of controlled drugs. A considerable amount of cash was also seized.
- 1 x arrest in relation to drugs supply offences with a quantity of cash and drugs seized. The suspect was later charged to court.
- 2 x arrests in relation to drugs supply offences with paraphernalia and a large quantity of cash seized. Both suspects bailed pending further enquiries.
- 1 arrest for Driving Whilst Unfit, Being Concerned in the Supply of Class A Controlled Drugs and Possession of Criminal Property (large amount of cash seized). After providing a specimen of breath which was twice the legal limit, the suspect was charged to court for the motoring offence and bailed pending further enquiries in relation to the drugs matters.
- 1 x vehicle seized and a report submitted to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) in relation to No Insurance, No Driving Licence as well as Taking and Driving Away (TADA).
- 1 x vehicle seized and a report to the PPS in relation to the driver having no insurance.
