IT will be an emotionally charged night at Maginn Park tomorrow, Friday, March 31.
Derry City will play its first game in almost a fortnight following the death of their ‘Captain Courageous’ Ryan McBride.
Ryan, who wore the No 5 Candy Stripe shirt with honour and pride, was found dead at his Bluebell Hill Gardens home on Sunday, March 19, the day after he captained his team to a 4-0 drubbing over Drogheda.
A huge crowd is expected at Maginn Park for Friday night’s encounter against Bray Wanderers in the SSE Airtricity Premier League (kick off 7.45 pm).
And City Cubs plan to mark his passing with the release of balloons.
In a message on the Facebook page, it said: “Tomorrow night our City Cubs will release balloons in memory of Our Captain & Our Hero Ryan McBride.
“Attached to these balloons are the below images.
“We would love to try and keep a record of how widespread they will travel.
“Could you please get in touch if you find one of these tributes to Ryan.
“Please share!!!
