SINN Féin has welcomed news of a fresh General Election on Thursday, June 8.
British Prime Minister Theresa May announced the news this morning outside 10 Downing Street in Lonond.
Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams tweeted: “So Ms May has called a British General Election.
“Sinn Féin is up 4 that!
“Another chance 2 vote against Brexit & 4 progress.”
Sinn Fein currently has four MPs but do not take their seats under party rules.
It will now be looking to win back the seat it lost in 2015 the Ulster Unionist’s Tom Elliott in Fermanagh/South Tyrone.
