THE family of tragic Danielle McLaughlin has been told it will take up to four months to get the results of her post mortem.
A second post mortem was carried out on the body of the 28 year old Buncrana woman in Dublin after she was brutally murdered in India on March 14th.
However, the State Pathologist’s Office has told Danielle’s heartbroken mum Andrea that it will take between three and four months for results to come through.
The second post mortem was carried out by State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy.
Danielle’s family requested a second post mortem after an initial examination in India found she had died from ‘constriction of the neck.’
A family source said they were not happy with how the Indian authorities handled the case in Goa.
That first post-mortem found that Danielle died as a result of brain damage and constriction of the neck caused (possibly strangling) her death, police said.
The post mortem also claimed she had been raped.
A family source said previously that if the findings of the new post mortem are different then this will pose major issues for Danielle’s family.
A man has since been charged in connection with the death of Danielle.
