ONLY USE 999 FOR EMERGENCIES AND NOT WHEN A LORRY BLOCKS LIGHT INTO LIVING ROOM – PSNI ADVISE

THE PSNI in Derry is advising the public not to misuse the 999 emergency call system.

A spokesperson said: “We at contact management will do our very best to assist the public in any way possible.

“But when we received a “999” complaining about a lorry parked outside blocking light getting through someone’s living room window even we were at a loss…..

“Please do not use “999” unless it is a genuine emergency.”
