AN 18-year-old male arrested by police investigating a collision on Derry this week has been released on bail pending further PSNI enquiries.
A 67-year-old woman was left in a critical condition in hospital following the crash.
The two-vehicle accident happened at around 7.30 pm on Victoria Road.
The woman is believed to have been the driver of one of the cars.
Her passenger, a 35-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An 18-year-old man, believed to be the driver of the other car, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody to Strand Road police station.
Following over a day of questioning, he has now been released on police bail as officers carry out further inquires.
Inspector Colin Reeves continues to appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
He said: “Investigating officers can be contacted by calling 101, quoting reference number 1046 27/06/17.”
