ALL roads lead to Mayo tomorrow, Saturday, July 1, for Derry in round 2A of the All Ireland Senior Football Champion qualifiers.
Throw in is at 5 pm at McHale Park with the game being shown live on RTE2, with the build up starting at 4.30 pm.
Damian Barton’s men got their show on the road a fortnight ago with a comfortable 1-17 to 0-13 success against Waterford.
After their defeat to Galway in the Connacht semi-final, many wondered whether Mayo will again have enough in the tank to reach the business end of the championship?
They have had three weeks to dust themselves down after the one-point loss in Salthil.
Derry last met Mayo in the championship in 2007 – an encounter the Oak Leafers won by a 2-13 to 1-06 scoreline.
The pundits believe Mayo – who were beaten by Dublin by a point in last year’s All Ireland final – should have enough to come out on the right side.
But Derry will be determined opponents and the Oak Leaf men will be bouyant after their win over Waterford.
