AN appeal has gone out to help catch those behind a despicable attack and robbery of a young man in Derry last week.
Local Sinn Féin Councillor Tony Hassan has urged anyone with information the incident to come forward.
The young man was assaulted and robbed at a tunnel connecting Carnhill and Galliagh in the early hours of Friday morning, June 30.
Added the councillor: “This must have been a very shocking experience for this young man and I hope he makes a full recovery.
“Those who would carry out such actions do so without any care for those they may hurt in the process.
“I would appeal for anyone with information on this attack to bring it forward to the police straight away.”
Anyone with information about those behind the assault should ring police on the 101 number.
Or alternatively give the information anonymously to Crimestoppers on freephone 0800 555 111.
