SINN Féin MP Elisha McCallion today met with New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli to discuss attracting additional investment to the north west.
Elisha McCallion said: “I met with New York State Comptroller Tom Di Napoli in Derry alongside Martina Anderson MEP to discuss his continuing support for attracting investment to the city.
“Tom Di Napoli has been a close ally of the north for many years through his friendship with the late Martin McGuinness and has already invested million of dollars in the north through the New York state pension fund.
“Together with Martin McGuinness, Tom DiNapoli has brought millions of dollars of investment to the North and helped the development of the peace process.
“During his visit to the city he met with Martin McGuinness’ sons, Emmet and Fiachra, and pledged to continue their father’s legacy.
“He also met with representatives of the business community and will be awarded an honorary doctorate at the Ulster University at Magee in recognition of his efforts to promote investment, peace and social justice.”
“I will continue to engage with Tom DiNapoli and his office in order to work towards attracting additional investment to Derry in the future,” added the Foyle MP.
