SINN Féin Councillor Tony Hassan has said a family in Rossnagalliagh had a lucky escape after a fire was started adjacent to their home just after 6am on Monday morning.
Councillor Hassan said “This family has had a lucky escape. Just after 6am neighbours spotted a fire at the fence beside their home.
“It has transpired that the brown food bin was set on fire which then spread to the fence.
“Neighbours alerted the family and the fire service.
“They then helped put out the fire.
“I would like to commend everyone here for their quick response and urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI.”
