TRIBUTES have been paid to a young Co Derry teacher who died in a tragic accident while in China earlier this week.

Craig Church (27) was from the small town of Portstewart, Co Derry in Northern Ireland.

He is believed to have died after suffering a fall in a tragic accident in eastern China.

Craig had been living and teaching in China for the past two years. He had previously attended Ulster University.

Craig’s sister Carrie Church said she and her family were devastated at the loss of their brother and son.

“We are just devastated. He was the best brother, son and friend,” she said.

“Craig was your friend if you were young or old. He was a friend to everyone.”

Carrie said the family was working closely with the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust in order to have her brother’s remains returned home.

“It’s all very raw for us,” she said.
