A MAN arrested in Derry over two paramilitary-style shooting in the city has now been released.
One of the shootings happened at an alleyway in the Bogside’s Lisfannon Park last Tuesday night when a 33-year-old man was shot four times ‘by appointment’ at the hands of violent dissident republican paramilitaries.
He sustained injuries to his legs and abdomen.
The second shooting happened in March.
The 32-year-old suspect, from the Lettershandoney area, was detained by police on Sunday morning.
He was arrested under section 41 of the Terrorism Act.
Detectives took him to the serious crime suite at Musgrave PSNI station for questioning.
A police spokesperson said today the man had now been released unconditionally.
Under the Terrorism Act, a suspect is either charged or released unconditionally.
Bail is not permitted under the legislation.
