HOMES EVACUATED IN DERRY SECURITY ALERT OVER SUSPICIOUS OBJECT

POLICE in Derry are currently in attendance at a security alert in the Heron Way area of the city.

This follows the discovery of a suspicious object last night.

British Army Technical Officers are at the scene carrying out an examinaton.

A number of homes were evacuated.

There are no further details at this stage.
