The Foyle MP said: “Today marks the start of the Feel Good Fortnight, an excellent initiative designed to promote positive mental health, emotional wellbeing and healthy living.
“Over the next two weeks, people are encouraged to take simple steps to improve their own mental health and that of others.
“It is important for all of us, of all ages, to look after our mental health and wellbeing and that’s what the Feel Good Fortnight is all about.
“It encourages us to take five steps to help improve our mental health:
“To connect with others; to be active; to take notice of the world around us without the use of technology to try new things; and to give to others, whether through donating to charity or carrying out random acts of kindness.
“I would encourage others to get behind the Feel Good Fortnight and take a little to think about their mental health and the mental health of others.”
