DETECTIVES have arrested a man over an attempt to murder police in Derry almost three years ago.
Officers from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit (TIU) detained the 38-year-old man his morning in the city under section 41 of the Terrorism Act.
He was taken to the serious crime custody suite in Belfast for questioning about possessing explosives with intent to endanger life.
The suspect was quizzed about the attempted murder of police at Ballyarnett Village in October 2014 when a booby trap bomb was left a house attached to a pressure plate.
A police spokesperson said this evening: “The man was later released after questioning.
“A report will be forwarded to the PPS.”
