THE PSNI in Derry are advising householders to be on their guard over bogus cold callers.
Police say on its Foyle Facebook page: “There has been a possible cold caller scam in the Kilaloo area.
“A male wearing a boiler suit and with an ID on a lanyard around his neck and in a van has called at a house claiming to be from Water Service looking for a leak.
“Just a reminder that if someone calls, check their credentials!
“They should have Valid ID if they are officia.
“Ring the company to check if your suspicious.
“If you have any doubts, do not open the door or let them in to your home.
“And phone 101 to report suspicious activity to us.”
So no ID – don’t let them in!
