MAYOR of Derry City and Strabane District Council Cllr Maolíosa McHugh has extended his best wishes to the two local ladies teams who are taking part in All Ireland Gaelic finals at Croke Park in Dublin today saying he hopes they will bring back the honours to Ulster.
Mayor McHugh, a keen Gaelic football fan, has extended his good wishes to the Derry Ladies team ahead of their All Ireland Junior final against Fermanagh (throw in 11.45 am) and to the Tyrone ladies who are playing in the Intermediate Cup final against Tipperary (thrown in 1.45 pm).
“This is a fantastic honour for the counties of Derry and Tyrone.
“I am confident the ladies will do us proud and that we will be celebrating this weekend when they bring the titles to Ulster.
“While I will not be at the finals I will be behind both teams and sending them by best wishes,” he said.
